Training

Best in Class are committed to supporting working class artists to develop their skills through training.

We organise and facilitate a variety of workshops to help working class acts upskill and unleash their potential.

We recently facilitated a series of Autumn Zoom sessions to support comedians planning their own solo shows. This included sessions on budgeting, PR and production as well as how to write and be proud of your work.

A particular highlight was our Writing for TV workshop held in London in 2024. We held space for 30 working class comedians to gain skills and experience in topical, sitcom and entertainment writing. With sessions delivered by TV producers, commissioners and even the head of channel 4 comedy. We demystified the jargon of the TV industry, gave people tangible experience of writing tasks and created a space to network with other professionals.

Best in Class 2024 alumni Amanda Hursy wrote about her experience of attending the workshop here.

We also invited journalist Racheal Healey to join us for the day, she wrote this article in The Guardian about her experience.
